“Sincerely, If you mixed Sublime and the Strokes, you’d get Tyler Indigo.”

Raised in Southern California, I first picked up a guitar at the age of 10. The moment I fell in love with music was on a summer day. I saw the music video for “Sweet Child O’mine” by Guns N Roses, something about it inspired me to make music my purpose in life.

My parents shaped my musical taste as well. My father listened to glam bands from the 80’s, 60’s bands such as the Beatles and introduced me to Sublime. My mother was a punk rocker and would play bands like Black Flag, Nirvana and sometimes pop acts like Fleetwood Mac.

Other bands such as: Metallica, Black Sabbath, The Strokes, Bob Marley and the Arctic Monkey furthered fueled my adoration for music and my appreciation for all styles. During my college years I heard of a So-Cal band called, “The Growlers”, and this influenced me to develop a sound of my own through my California roots. The need to create multiple genres is heavily influenced by Bradley Nowell of Sublime. Sincerely if you mixed Sublime and the Strokes, you’d get Tyler Indigo. I write, produce, and mix most of my songs; I sing, play guitar and bass, make beats, and focus on keys to create an imagery of a California sunset.

Open-mics and weekly shows became the regular, and after years of playing live my sound has further developed as well as my stage presence. The style I focus on is channeled through reverb and distorted dynamics, catchy melodies, and hip-hop flavored tracks, as well as folk styled acoustic songs.

I have been featured on “On That Note” podcast, operated by fellow friend and musician Parker Wierling. I’ve also been reviewed by bloggers such as: Jangle-pop hub and Euphonixx Music Blog. Indie playlisters on Spotify have put me on their playlist. Ones to mention are: Happy Alternative Indie, Indie Summer Surf, Lo-fi indie bedroom pop and Surf Pop Lo-fi.

I’m currently looking for a record label to further my career and to help me become a household name. Join the journey and follow Tyler Indigo on social media and hope to see you at the next show!
